Our story
Built on local know-how and family values
Grafton Hire is a family-owned equipment and party hire business in Grafton, NSW. For over 20 years we have helped Clarence Valley locals gear up for backyard weddings, renovations, site work and community events.
It started as a one-man operation run by local legend Merve. Down the track, Brett and Peter took it over and turned it into a true family-run business that is now proudly run by the next generation. You will still find them in the yard, picking up the phone, or on the road delivering to sites and celebrations all over the Clarence Valley.
We are locals through and through. The team is involved in everything from the Jacaranda Festival to the Clarence River Jockey Club's July races, and we back the people who back us: tradies, event planners, councils, schools and DIYers.

Grafton Hire has been hiring equipment and event gear to Clarence Valley locals for over 20 years. It started as a one-man operation run by local legend Merve before Brett and Peter took it over, and it is now run by the next generation.
The yard and showroom are at 71 Spring Street, Grafton NSW 2460. We are open Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm, and closed on weekends. Pick-ups and returns happen during those hours, and we deliver across Grafton, South Grafton, Maclean, Yamba, Iluka and the wider Clarence Valley. Everyone is welcome. We hire to commercial builders and councils, and just as often to homeowners doing a weekend job, couples planning a wedding and families throwing a birthday. Whether you need one pie warmer to keep the pastries hot or enough chairs and tables for a big gathering, the process is the same: tell us what you need and we will sort it.
Every item, from power tools to marquees, is checked, tested and cleaned between hires. We only hire out gear we would be happy to use ourselves, and we carry trade brands such as OX Tools, Master Finish and Tommy Tucker. If something plays up during your hire, ring the yard and we will talk you through it.
We are local, and the family that runs the business is the one in the yard and on the phone. You get honest advice on what actually suits the job, a fair price, and support for the whole hire, not just the handover. We know the Clarence Valley, its sites and its weather, and we back the community that backs us, from the Jacaranda Festival to the July races.
