Marquee Hire in Grafton & the Clarence Valley

Six styles from a 3.6 m pop-up to a 21 m Hampton, installed and packed down by our crew.

About our marquee hire

Grafton Hire supplies marquee hire in Grafton and the Clarence Valley, installed and packed down by our local family crew from the yard at 71 Spring Street. Wedding marquee hire is the heart of it, and white marquee hire for parties, fetes and corporate days runs all year. We carry six marquee styles, from a 3.6 m free-standing pop-up for the backyard to a 21 m Hampton for a full wedding reception, and we handle the whole job: a site check beforehand, delivery, installation and pack-down after the event.

Tell us the date, the guest count and where it is going. We will suggest a size and a layout, then quote the marquee with walls, flooring, lighting, furniture and toilets in one hit, so nothing turns up from three different suppliers on the day. Party marquee hire and marquee flooring hire are quoted the same way: marquee hire prices depend on the size, the extras and how far we travel, and every quote gives you a clear breakdown of the costs.

Size guide

How big a marquee do I need?

Allow about 1 sq m per guest seated at tables, or 0.5 to 0.7 sq m per guest standing at a cocktail party.

This is a guide only. A dance floor, bar, band, buffet or bridal table all take space, so go a size up if you want them inside. Send us a rough plan and we will size it properly.

Weddings

Wedding marquee hire in Grafton and the Clarence Valley

Wedding marquee hire starts with a Hampton, Electron or White One, with walls, flooring and festoon lighting, then the tables, chairs and tableware, a PA and dance floor and portable toilets quoted on the same sheet. We check the site beforehand, and weekend hires usually go in on the Thursday or Friday and are collected on the Monday or Tuesday.

The rest of the wedding hire comes from the same yard: the timber A-frame arbour and white chairs for the ceremony, tables, tablecloths and peacock chairs for the reception, a dance floor, catering gear, and standard and accessible toilets. Wedding dates book out early in the busy wedding season. Send the date, the guest count and the paddock and we will hold it with a deposit.

Marquee hire questions

The short answers. Call for anything specific to your site or your date.

  • As a rule of thumb, allow about 1 sq m per guest seated at tables, so 100 seated guests need about 100 sq m: an 11 m x 11 m Big Blue & White (121 sq m), or a 15 m x 10 m Hampton (150 sq m) if you want room for a dance floor and a bar. Standing at a cocktail party, allow 0.5 to 0.7 sq m per guest, so 50 to 70 sq m, and an 11 m x 8 m White One or Little Blues would do it. These are estimates, so use the size guide as a start, then call us and we will help size it from your plan.

  • As a rule of thumb, allow about 1 sq m per guest seated at tables, so 50 seated guests need about 50 sq m: an 8 m x 8 m White One or Little Blues (64 sq m) seats them with room to move. Standing at a cocktail party, 50 guests need about 25 to 35 sq m, so a 6 m x 6 m free-standing marquee (36 sq m) would do it. These are estimates, so call us with your plan and we will help size it.

  • As a rule of thumb, 150 guests seated at tables need about 150 sq m: a 15 m x 10 m Hampton (150 sq m) or an 11 m x 14 m Big Blue & White (154 sq m). For a dance floor and a bar inside as well, go a size up, for example an 11 m x 18 m Big Blue & White (198 sq m) or a 21 m x 9 m Electron (189 sq m). These are estimates, so send us your plan and we will help size it.

  • It depends on the style, the size, how long you need it and what goes with it: walls, flooring, lighting, furniture and toilets all change the total. Delivery distance and installation time matter too. We do not publish a price list because two 8 m x 8 m hires can be very different jobs. Call Grafton Hire on (02) 6643 2878 with the date, the guest numbers and the site and we will give you a clear quote with everything itemised.

  • For a wedding, look at the Hampton, Electron or White One. Walls, flooring, festoon lighting, tables, chairs and toilets can all go on the same quote, so the price covers the whole set-up rather than the marquee alone. The size, the extras and the distance we travel all affect the total. Send us your guest count, venue and date for a quote. Wedding dates book out early, so a deposit secures yours.

  • Most of the time, yes. We check the site before the event to make sure it is safe and suitable, and we can adjust anchor points or suggest a style that suits an uneven spot. The Hampton, Big Blue & White, Electron, White One and Little Blues cannot go on paved or concrete areas.

  • As early as you can, especially in the busy wedding and festival seasons, like the Jacaranda Festival, when the popular marquees get snapped up. Once the marquee is locked in, add the walls, flooring, lighting, furniture and toilets to the same booking so we can coordinate the lot. If your date is close, ring the yard and ask what is still available.

  • Yes. Every style has walls available, which keep the weather and wind out and give the space some privacy at night. The Hampton has a champagne roof and wall option and the Electron a white one. Flooring is available depending on stock at the time, and it gives the marquee a polished, comfortable feel. Tell us what you have in mind and we will suggest the options that suit.
