What is a traditional peg-and-pole marquee?
A peg-and-pole marquee uses poles and anchoring around the structure. Its shape creates the peaked look often associated with a marquee wedding. The installation needs suitable ground and enough space for the complete setup, not just the covered floor area.
Grafton Hire’s peg-and-pole range includes the Hampton, The Big Blue & White, Electron, The White One and The Little Blues. These styles cannot be installed on paved or concrete areas. Check the actual site with the crew before choosing a style by its appearance.
Which peg-and-pole styles are available?
The Hampton has a champagne roof, while the Electron has a white roof. The Big Blue & White and The Little Blues offer other looks in the listed range. The marquee page gives the confirmed sizes for each, so you can discuss the available space without relying on a generic photograph.
Walls are available as add-ons. Flooring options depend on availability and should be checked with the quote rather than assumed to be included.
What is a free-standing marquee?
Free-standing marquees use a supporting frame rather than the traditional centre-pole arrangement. Grafton Hire lists white free-standing options in 6 m x 6 m, 6 m x 4 m and 3.6 m x 3.6 m, with walls available and no ropes or pegs. The crew still needs to confirm the installation and site requirements; free-standing does not mean a structure can be put anywhere without assessment.
How do you choose the right type?
Start with the ground surface, site dimensions and access. Then list the guests, dining layout, dance floor, bar and catering area. A guest-capacity estimate does not replace checking the complete layout. Discuss furniture, lighting and toilets alongside the marquee.
